The Danish finance ministry expects to issue Denmark's first green sovereign bond later in 2021, Børsen reported March 11.
While the Danish government aired the idea of a green bond back in 2019, it is the first time it has indicated a time frame for the issuance, according to the report.
In 2020, the Danish central bank appointed Danske Bank A/S, Nordea Bank Abp and BNP Paribas SA as advisers to explore the options for issuing a green sovereign bond, Børsen said. The finance ministry is reportedly in discussions with external parties about the framework for the issuance.
