COO of New York-based Amalgamated Financial to resign

Martin Murrell, senior executive vice president and COO of Amalgamated Financial Corp. and its unit, Amalgamated Bank, will resign from the company and the bank effective May 17.

Murrell will pursue new opportunities. His departure is not due to any disagreement with the company or the bank regarding their respective operations, policies or practices, according to a Form 8-K filed April 20.
