In Q2 2025, Australia recorded a total of 169 mergers and acquisitions (M&A) transactions, reaching a combined value of US$35.6 billion. This signifies a 29.6% decrease in the number of M&A deals compared to Q2 2024, but a remarkable 250.5% increase in total transaction value. When comparing YTD 2025 and YTD 2024, inbound markets saw the most significant surge in aggregate transaction value, rising by 173.5%. Outbound markets followed with an increase of 81.7%, while domestic markets experienced a decline of 14.1%.
In 2025, the Real Estate sector in the inbound market, along with Information Technology and Communication Services in the outbound market, showed a notable increase.
