CMS Energy reports $180M in costs for coal plant under DOE emergency order

Consumers Energy said it cost the utility $180 million through the first quarter of 2026 to keep the coal-fired J.H. Campbell power plant in operation. The US Energy Department has issued several orders to keep the plant running.
