BHP Group Ltd. raised $3.0 billion through the issuance of senior unsecured bonds in the US market, the diversified miner said in a Feb. 19 release.
The bond offer comprises $1.0 billion in five-year bonds at 5.000% maturing in 2030, $750 million in seven-year bonds at 5.125% maturing in 2032 and $1.25 billion in 10-year bonds at 5.300% maturing in 2035.
The settlement of the bonds is expected on Feb. 21, BHP said, adding that the net proceeds will be allocated for general corporate purposes.
The bonds will be issued by BHP unit BHP Billiton Finance Ltd. under the company's US debt registration statement filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission in February 2023.
BHP's net profit for the first half of its fiscal 2025 surged to $4.42 billion from $927 million in the year-ago period, despite revenue falling 8% to $25.18 billion.
