TSE, a French solar developer and producer, has signed a 15-year power purchase agreement with semiconductor manufacturing company STMicroelectronics NV, according to a Nov. 20 news release.
Under the deal, TSE will supply STMicroelectronics with 43 MW of renewable electricity sourced from three solar parks in France. The procured amount will be used to power STMicroelectronics' sites in the country.
The deal represents an overall volume of about 780 GWh over the life of the contract.
"This is our second PPA in France, marking another important step towards ST's goal of becoming carbon neutral in its operations" by 2027, said Chouaib Rokbi, executive vice president of digital transformation IT and global procurement organization at STMicroelectronics. "PPAs play a major role in our transition, and we have already signed several to support ST's operations in France, Italy, Malaysia and Morocco."
