Executive Director, Investment Banking | Advisory Payments & CSA Specialist
Laura Rota is an Executive Director within the Investment Banking division at UBS, bringing nearly two decades of experience spanning business intelligence, equity strategy, client management, and advisory payments. She currently leads advisory and research payment frameworks, with deep expertise in Commission Sharing Agreements (CSA), research monetization, and evolving regulatory standards.
Throughout her career, Laura has held roles across analytics, strategic planning, and client-facing leadership, giving her a broad and practical understanding of the equity and advisory ecosystem. She played a central role in the implementation of MiFID II research unbundling across Europe and has extensive experience in both pre‑ and post‑MiFID environments. This end‑to‑end regulatory perspective enables her to evaluate how structural change continues to influence research valuation, governance, and commercial dynamics between banks and asset managers.
Laura works closely with institutional clients and internal partners across Sales, Research, Finance, Legal, and Trading to design scalable, compliant, and commercially effective commission management solutions. She is recognized for her ability to translate regulatory complexity into actionable commercial strategy, helping clients navigate evolving payment models — including joint payment optionality — while optimizing transparency, operational efficiency, and governance.

European Commercial Lead for Research Manager
Thomas Hodds is the Product Consultant of Investment Research Evaluation solutions for asset managers and brokers in EMEA and APAC. Thomas joined IHS Markit in October 2018 and works closely alongside a variety of clients who utilize the Commission Manager and Evaluation workflow solutions. Prior to IHS Markit, he worked at Cantor Fitzgerald as a Graduate Investment Banking Analyst. Before that, he worked at Integrated Financial Arrangements where he was responsible for ensuring the company and its clients were MiFID II compliant. Mr. Hodds holds a Bachelor of Science in Business & Management with Economics from the University of Lincoln, United Kingdom.

Oliver Pratley is the Global Head of Research Relationships for Invesco based out of Henley on Thames. The Henley Investment Centre is part of Invesco Ltd, a global organization solely focused on investment management with offices all over the world. Mr. Pratley has the responsibility for the provision investment research and provider relationships for all Investment Centers globally and the management of the relationships with a number of third-party vendors utilized in the research payment and control processes.
