Top News

* Warner Media LLC CEO Jason Kilar plans to exit the company on April 8, ahead of the close of the company's merger with Discovery Inc., The Wall Street Journal reported, citing a memo to staff. WarnerMedia Studios and Networks Group CEO Ann Sarnoff and Andy Forssell, executive vice president and general manager of HBO Max, are also leaving the company, according to Variety.

* Twitter Inc. will appoint Tesla Inc. CEO Elon Musk to its board for a two-year term after he revealed a 9.2% stake in the social media company, Dow Jones Newswires reported.

The Americas

* Walt Disney Co. named Kristina Schake executive vice president of global communications. Schake, who will serve as Disney's lead spokesperson, was previously global communications director of Instagram LLC. Disney also appointed former Google LLC executive Jeremy Doig as chief technology officer of Disney Streaming.

* Micron Technology Inc. appointed Fran Dillard vice president and chief diversity inclusion officer. Dillard joined from Lockheed Martin Corp., where she was executive director of enterprise global diversity and inclusion.

* GitLab Inc. named Ashley Kramer the company's chief marketing and strategy officer. Kramer most recently was chief marketing and product officer at application software company Sisense Inc.

* Vimeo Inc. appointed former Iora Health Inc. CFO Gillian Munson as the video platform company's finance chief. Outgoing Vimeo CFO Narayan Menon will remain with the company as an executive adviser through the end of 2022.

Europe, Middle East and Africa

* Nokia Oyj shareholders reelected Sari Baldauf, Bruce Brown, Thomas Dannenfeldt, Jeanette Horan, Edward Kozel, Søren Skou and Carla Smits-Nusteling to its board. Lisa Hook, Thomas Saueressig and Kai Öistämö were elected as new directors. The board elected Baldauf as chair and Skou as vice chair.

* Telecom Egypt Co. named Majid Ibrahim Osman its chairman, Zawya reported, citing a bourse filing. The company also nominated Adel Hamed Ibrahim Gad Allah as managing director.

* Global sports streaming platform provider DAZN Group Ltd. appointed Alice Mascia CEO of its operations in the Germany, Austria and Switzerland region. Mascia will join the company May 1.

* Vodacom Group Ltd. South Africa Managing Director Balesh Sharma is leaving the company and its parent entity Vodafone Group PLC, effective June 30, to pursue an external work opportunity in Europe.

* Mobile operator Econet Wireless Zimbabwe Ltd. named Elizabeth Tanya Masiyiwa to its board, effective April 1.

* Elena Bunina stepped down as CEO and human resources director of Russian technology company Yandex LLC, ahead of her term's expiration on April 15, Reuters reported, citing an emailed statement. Yandex appointed a senior manager, Artem Savinovsky, as acting CEO.

* Albanian operator ALBtelecom Sh.a promoted Ervin Shpori to the role of CEO on an interim basis, replacing Bilgen Aldan. The 4iG Nyrt. unit also appointed Irida Bonati deputy CEO.

* Italtel SpA named Benedetto Di Salvo as its new CEO, replacing Stefano Pileri, who is stepping down. The Italian ICT services provider also confirmed the appointment of Claudio Calabi as chairman, while Umberto Pesce will become vice chairman.

* Ian Cheshire will become the next chair of British public broadcaster Channel 4, replacing interim Chair Dawn Airey. Cheshire will join Channel 4's board on April 11.

* The U.K. Parliament's Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee confirmed the appointment of Michael Ian Grade as the new chair of media and telecom regulator Ofcom for a four-year term, beginning May 1. Maggie Carver, interim chair since January, will return to her role as Ofcom's deputy chair.

Asia-Pacific

* Spark New Zealand Ltd. named Aliza Beckett to the newly created role of strategy director, effective in June. Beckett most recently was vice president of strategy and corporate development at Liberty Global PLC.

* John Phillips is retiring as CFO of Australian operator Swoop Holdings Ltd. The company appointed Patricia Jones as its new finance chief, effective April 19, with Phillips moving to a part-time advisory role to facilitate a smooth transition.
