Kareem Yakub is a principal analyst for Upstream Companies & Transactions at S&P Global Commodity Insights.

Kareem is responsible for evaluating the upstream strategic positioning and performance of international oil companies (IOCs) and national oil companies (NOCs). In response to evolving client needs, he has also written about the investments that oil and gas companies are making to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions.

Prior to joining S&P Global Commodity Insights, Kareem was a legislative aide in the US Senate and gained experience working at strategic consultancies that assisted clients with business interests in Latin America. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science and economics from the University of Florida and a Master of Arts in international economics and Latin American studies from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, both in the United States.
