Shareholders of Companhia de Seguros Alianca da Bahia appointed Silvano Gianni to be the company's chairman, according to a filing.

Meanwhile, José Maria Souza Teixeira Costa and Manoel Eduardo Pedreira Torres were named as vice chairman and board member, respectively.

The Brazilian insurer has previously selected José Renato de Almeida Gonçalves Tourinho as its new CEO.

The appointments come months after Paulo Sérgio Freire de Carvalho Gonçalves Tourinho, the company's long-serving chairman and CEO, died in November 2018.
