Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance names head of new transactional liability biz

Berkshire HathawaySpecialty Insurance Co. has expanded into transactional liability insurancein the U.S. and Canada and named Robert Underhill as senior vice president and thesegment's leader.

The company also appointed Dan Crosby vice president for transactionalliability and named Amy Bowman and Michael Brooks assistant vice presidents.

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty is underwriting representationsand warranties insurance and other coverages for the risks and uncertainties incorporate transactions and is offering both primary and excess coverage.

Underhill was most recently a partner at Locke Lord, while Crosbywas most recently vice president and underwriting leader for transactional liabilityat QBE Americas Inc. Bowman joined the company as counsel in the legal departmentin 2014, and Brooks was most recently an associate at Kramer Levin Naftalis &Frankel LLP.

Underhill, Crosby and Brooks are based in New York. Bowman isbased in Boston.
