Alrosa considering reopening Mir diamond mine, puts cost at US$1.3B

PJSC Alrosa is evaluating whether to reopen its Mir diamond mine in Russia, Reuters reported March 18.

The Mir pipe was suspended after a flood in 2017 that required the mine to be evacuated.

CFO Alexey Philippovskiy told an investor meeting in London that the process would take between six and eight years and cost about US$1.3 billion.
