The Federal Trade Commission is seeking information from Mylan NV as part of a preliminary investigation over price hikes in the company's EpiPen product in 2016, Bloomberg News reported Jan. 30.
The agency is looking into the possible antitrust violations committed by Mylan such as eliminating competition from lower-priced products by making small changes to EpiPen, and whether the company entered agreements that delayed cheaper versions of the product, the news service reported, citing an unnamed source.
The source reportedly stated that the FTC investigation of EpiPen is in early stages and might not lead to an enforcement action.
