UniCredit names corporate, i-banking head for Germany

UniCredit Bank AG named Jan Kupfer head of corporate and investment banking in Germany, effective March 1.

Kupfer, who is global co-head of global transaction banking for parent company UniCredit SpA, will replace Michael Diederich, who moved to become CEO of UniCredit Bank AG and UniCredit's country chairman for Germany on Jan. 1. Kupfer will also become a member of the management board at UniCredit Bank, also known as HypoVereinsbank, where he has been since 1991.

Luca Corsini will now serve as sole head of global transaction banking, with Thomas Dusch, co-head of global transaction banking in Germany, moving to become deputy global head of the business.

Katharina Michael, head of international trade finance sales in Germany, will take over as co-head of global transaction banking for Germany alongside Harald Schwendtner. Before joining UniCredit in 2016, Michael was global head of structured trade finance at Commerzbank AG.
