Verizon Communications Inc. switched on its 5G ultra-wideband network in Los Angeles.

Verizon customers will have access to the network in parts of downtown, Chinatown, Del Rey and Venice.

The U.S. carrier already has launched its 5G service in several large cities, including Chicago, Washington, D.C., and New York City.

Verizon plans to roll out the network in more than 30 U.S. cities this year.
