Apple to open Munich office

Apple Inc. is planning to expand in Munich, Germany, having agreed to rent out an entire office building, AppleInsider reports, citing Süddeutsche Zeitung.

The Karl building is under construction on the former Mahag site on Karlstrasse and scheduled for completion in 2021. It covers around 30,000 square meters and will house about 1,500 employees.

The tech giant's 300 engineers in Germany currently work in the Bavarian Design Center. It is not known if they will be moved into the Karl headquarters, but Apple reportedly has over 60 job openings in the area.
