Omnes, BIP jointly invest in French clothing retailer Captain Tortue

Paris-based Omnes Capital SAS and Luxembourg-based BIP Capital Partners jointly acquired a majority stake in Aix-en-Provence, France-based Captain Tortue, a direct seller of women's ready-to-wear clothing.

Captain Tortue founders Philippe and Lilian Jacquelinet reinvested a significant stake in the company, with Philippe staying as chairman. Omnes and BIP Capital made the investment through their respective Omnes Croissance 4 and Bip Fund (SCA) Sicar vehicles.

Captain Tortue products are sold through a network of 4,000 style consultants who host fashion workshops at homes. It has four brands: Trend, Miss, Little Miss and Java.

Omnes is a private equity and infrastructure investor with €3.6 billion of assets under management in Europe. BIP Capital is an independent investor targeting midsize companies, mainly in French- and German-speaking countries.
