An internal analysis conducted by Citigroup Inc. showed that the company's median pay for women globally is better than 73% of the median for men, up from 71% last year, according to a blog post.
Additionally, the company's "raw" gap analysis revealed that the median pay for U.S. minorities is 94% of the median for non-minorities, an improvement from 93% last year. "Raw" pay gap measures the difference in median total compensation without adjusting for factors such as job function, level and geography.
On an adjusted basis, women are paid on average more than 99% of what men are paid at Citi offices worldwide. There was also no statistically significant difference in adjusted compensation for U.S. minorities and non-minorities.
Sara Wechter, head of human resources at Citi, wrote in the blog post that the company remains committed to increase representation at the assistant vice president through managing director levels to at least 40% for women globally and 8% for black employees in the U.S. by the end of 2021.
