Report: Estonia launches permit process for 1,384 MW of offshore wind projects

The government of Estonia has started a process to evaluate the feasibility of three proposed offshore wind farms with a combined capacity of 1,384 MW in the Gulf of Riga, according to a report by renews.biz.

The projects include a 1,000-MW offshore wind farm, developed by Eesti Energia AS, and a 380-MW project planned by Tuuletraal, according to the report. The third project is a single-turbine, 4-MW facility, developed by Five Wind Energy.

As part of the process, the government will conduct environmental impact assessment of the projects and will determine whether they meet the criteria for construction permits.
