Savannah Resources Plc commissioned a scoping study and environmental studies for the Mutamba mineral sands project in Mozambique that is being developed under a consortium arrangement with Rio Tinto.
The scoping study is expected to take about four months to complete and will focus on large mineralized areas of over 5% total heavy minerals identified from previous mineral resource estimate work at the project.
The environmental studies for the Mutamba Project North and the Chilubane deposit are expected to take three to four months to complete, according to the Dec. 13 release.
Savannah is also reviewing a detailed data set for the Chilubane deposit received from Rio Tinto. The review is expected to take six to eight weeks.
