Mexico's Chamber of Deputies to discuss fintech bill in 2018

Mexico's Chamber of Deputies will start discussing early next year the bill for regulation of the financial technology industry, El Economista reported.

According to Gina Cruz Blackledge, head of the lower house's finance commission, the bill should be analyzed in detail due to its controversial and relevant nature.

The commission will meet in January 2018 to decide on the bill, before sending it to the plenary session, Cruz said.

The bill, which was already approved by the Senate, would regulate fintech companies, including those involved in crowdfunding and cryptocurrency.
