Platts clarifies forex utilized in Voluntary Carbon Market assessment conversions

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, wishes to clarify the foreign exchange assessments utilized in the conversion of its Voluntary Carbon Market (VCM) price assessments, effective June 2, 2025.

This follows recent changes to the timestamps for Platts' VCM assessments, details of which can be found in a subscriber note here(opens in a new tab).

Platts shifted all assessments from a single global timestamp of 12:00 GMT to one of three, most relevant regional timestamps:

• 1730 Singapore Time
• 1630 London Time
• 1430 Eastern Standard Time

As such, Platts amended the forex rates used in the conversion of its VCM assessments accordingly. The timestamps for the existing and recently launched foreign exchange assessments used in the conversion of Platts' VCM assessments can be found below:
