iBoxx MSCI ESG USD Emerging Markets Sovereigns Quality Weighted
Description
The iBoxx MSCI ESG USD Emerging Markets Sovereigns Quality Weighted is designed to measure the performance of USD-denominated sovereign bonds issued by emerging market central governments and central banks, with a minimum amount outstanding of USD 1 billion. Securities must have a minimum initial time to maturity of 18 months at issuance and a remaining time to maturity of at least six months at rebalancing. Countries must have a minimum MSCI Government ESG Rating of BB, with the lowest ESG-scoring countries excluded, ensuring at least 20% of issuers from the benchmark index are excluded. The index applies an 8% country cap. Bonds must be clearable through Clearstream, Euroclear, or Hong Kong CMU, and the index excludes issuers from countries in default on external debt or those on EU or U.S. financial sanctions lists, unless sanctions apply only to specific individuals or government funds/transactions are unaffected by the sanctions.
