Over the course of the first quarter, the yield curve has shifted down, with a pronounced movement in the 0-5 bucket and the 30yr issuance driving greater curvature.
The more-than-proportional downward shift across the shorter end of the curve has encouraged a curve steepening. Since January, there have been two new inclusions in the index (no exclusions), strengthening the index's coverage profile across the maturity spectrum:
