The S&P Kensho Space Index is designed to measure the performance of companies involved in the Space sector, including those focused on space-related activities as a principal component of their business strategy.
A subsector index within the S&P Kensho New Economy Index Series, the S&P Kensho Space Index intends to represent companies that are focused on the space industry, which is driven by desire for commercialization and scientific exploration of the final frontier. Rising interest in space tourism, a growing demand for rare-earth minerals, and even interplanetary colonization is propelling companies to expand the scope and availability of space travel and exploration into deep space. This is prompting demand for rockets, launch vehicles, satellites, and their subsystems.
