Nestlé to revamp waters business, proposes changes to executive board

Nestlé SA plans to integrate its bottled water division Nestlé Waters into its three geographical zones, effective Jan. 1, 2020.

The food and beverage company will create a business unit to ensure strategic alignment and to manage core global functions.

Nestlé Waters, created in 1992, includes brands such as Perrier and Poland Spring.

"This move will help utilize Nestlé's strong local expertise, better respond to rapidly changing consumer preferences, accelerate profitable growth and create synergies," the company said.

Nestlé also announced the appointment of Sanjay Bahadur, head of acquisitions and business development, to the executive board as deputy executive vice president, replacing Maurizio Patarnello, effective Jan. 1, 2020.

Bahadur will lead the newly created group strategy and business development function that will help in identifying internal and external strategic growth opportunities.
