IAMGOLD Corp. said March 19 that it will reduce its workforce at the Westwood gold mine in Quebec by 32% starting this week to control costs.
The decision stems from planned reductions related to the current stage of the mine development and plans to align with production guidance.
Westwood's production guidance for the full year is between 100,000 to 120,000 ounces.
The company said it is developing a revised life-of-mine plan for the mine and expects to provide an update in the fourth quarter.
