ND oil, gas wells increased production in October

North Dakota oil and gas production rose marginally in October, with gas wells in the state producing 53.2 Bcf, or 1.7 Bcf/d, according to preliminary figures released by the Industrial Commission, up from September's adjusted total of 48.4 Bcf, or 1.6 Bcf/d.

On a preliminary basis, oil production was 32.3 million barrels, or 1.04 MMbbl/d. For September, adjusted oil production was 29.2 MMbbl, or 0.97 MMbbl/d.

The top-producing county for gas in October was McKenzie, with 25.74 Bcf. Williams County came in second, at 9.96 Bcf.

McKenzie was also the top oil producer in October, with 12.3 MMbbl produced. Coming in second was Mountrail, with 6.6 MMbbl.

Of the state's 15,326 wells capable of production in October, 13,457 were in use.
