Platts discontinues Petrobras bunkers posted prices

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has discontinued the Petrobras bunkers posted prices, effective Dec. 1.

The move was due to Petrobras saying Oct. 31 that beginning Nov. 1 it would no longer publish and sends out bunker posted prices to the market. Instead Petrobras is sending price indications once per day and the prices may change throughout the day depending on the market. Since Nov. 1, the prices published under the Petrobras posted price symbols have been indications rather than posted prices.

Platts will continue to publish indications from the Brazil bunkers market, including any available daily price indications from Petrobras, as heards.

Platts will continue to publish its assessments of bunkers at the Santos port.

The prices represent an assessment of the spot price for bunkers at the port.

The assessment is databased under MFSAD00 for Marine Fuel 0.5%S and AAXWO00 for MGO.

Platts does not currently have price assessments for Rio de Janeiro and Paranagua, the other two ports that Platts has published posted prices for.

Platts invites feedback on these markets for possible price assessments.

The Petrobras posted prices appeared on Platts Global Alert page 876 and Platts Shipping Alert page 2244 and in Bunkerwire and Latin American Wire.
