S&P Global Platts proposes to launch metallurgical coke 65%/63% CSR and 62%/60% CSR assessments from January 2, 2019.
Platts proposes the assessments to be on a daily basis and with FOB North China CFR India incoterms.
Platts invites feedback on this proposal by Wednesday, December 12. The proposal to launch these assessments comes on the back of consistent and growing market demand for increased pricing information in the metallurgical coke markets.
The assessments would reflect metallurgical coke with a 65%/63% CSR and 62%/60% CSR content, 12.5% ash, 0.65% sulfur, 82% minimum Micum 40, 8%, maximum Micum 10, 30-80 mm size, 25%-26% CRI, 5% TM. All origins of metallurgical coke meeting these specifications would be taken into consideration, but may be normalized back to Platts base standards.
In order to assess metallurgical coke CSR 65/63% and CSR 62/60%, Platts will collect a wide variety of transactional and market information through a survey of industry participants, which typically includes, but is not limited to, communicating with sources via phone, email, and instant messaging. Please submit any feedback, comments or questions about this decision to pl_cokingcoal@spglobal.com and pricegroup@spglobal.com by December 12.

Platts will consider all comments received and will make comments not marked as confidential available upon request.
