S&P Global Platts proposes to change the cargo size on two dry bulk Supramax steel scrap freight assessments -- from New Jersey to Aliaga, Turkey, and from Rotterdam to Aliaga -- from 45,000 mt to 40,000 mt.
The proposed effective date is October 2, 2017.
The proposed change is a result of industry feedback and in response to market changes. Platts understands that charterers typically move Supramax steel scrap cargoes loaded out of New Jersey and Rotterdam, basis 40,000 mt (plus/minus 10%). Platts would normalize any other cargo size on these routes to a 40,000 mt basis.
The assessments appear in Dry Freight Wire and the fixed page PMA-3912 under codes MSJAT00 and MSNAT00, respectively
