Nidec Corp. completed the acquisition of German privately owned gearbox manufacturer MS-Graessner GmbH & Co. KG and its group companies

The Japanese manufacturing firm acquired MS-Graessner through Nidec-Shimpo GmbH, the German affiliate of subsidiary Nidec-Shimpo Corp.

The acquisition will expand Nidec-Shimpo's portfolio of precision gearbox solutions and expand its sales network to Europe, Nidec said.

The deal is not expected to have a significant impact on Nidec's results for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2019.
