Report: Former shareholders split assets after Promsvyazbank bailout

PAO Promsvyazbanks former main shareholders, Aleksey and Dmitry Ananiev, will divide their assets following the bailout of the lender by the Russian central bank in December 2017, Vedomosti reported Feb. 26.

Dmitry Ananiev, who served as chairman of the management board at Promsvyazbank before its takeover by the central bank, became the sole owner of Promsvyaz Capital BV.

The company is the former shareholder of Promsvyazbank and has a majority holding in Vozrozhdenie Bank. Dmitry Ananiev also controls real estate developer PSN and media assets, while Aleksey Ananiev took full control of the brothers' IT business.

The division could be an attempt by the Ananiev brothers to protect part of their business in case the rescued Promsvyazbank makes a move to recover assets from the former owners, Lev Dorf, assistant vice president at Moody's, told the newspaper.
