Vienna Insurance Group AG executive board member Liane Hirner took over as group CFO on July 1, succeeding Martin Simhandl.

Hirner has been a member of the executive board since February 2018. Simhandl left VIG after a 32-year career at the group.

VIG also announced the appointment of Peter Thirring to the group's executive board. He is a general manager at the group's subsidiary Donau Versicherung AG.
