Suvankar Mazumder

Chief Technology Officer

Suvankar Mazumder is Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of S&P Global Ratings and S&P Dow Jones Indices. He is responsible for developing essential product solutions and works directly with the Ratings Operating Committee to deliver on key strategic initiatives, including Analytical Desktop, Content & Publishing and Ratings360^®. His leadership and vision are integral to shaping the technological future of the division, and he serves as a member of the Ratings Operating Committee.

Suvankar began his role as CTO of S&P Global Ratings in February 2022. His journey with S&P Global began in July 2019 when he was appointed CTO for S&P Global Market Intelligence. In that role, he was instrumental in aligning the division's technology with S&P Global’s overarching strategy, ensuring the delivery of platforms designed to power the markets of the future.

Suvankar Mazumder is a distinguished technology executive with over 20 years of experience in driving business transformation through innovative software development at leading global financial and technology institutions. Prior to joining S&P Global, Suvankar held significant leadership positions where he spearheaded major technological advancements. At Bloomberg, he served as the Head of Engineering for Transaction Management Systems, where he directed the technical architecture and delivery of its multi-asset class trading services platform. His career also includes impactful tenures at Morgan Stanley, where he led the development of an integrated platform for risk and PnL impact determination; UBS, where he delivered a cutting-edge client analytics platform; and Goldman Sachs, where he was a key figure in the creation of the Goldman 360 Portal. He began his career at Sun Microsystems as a SunOS kernel developer.

Suvankar holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Imperial College, London.
