The iBoxx ABF Hong Kong is designed to measure the performance of HKD-denominated sovereign and sub-sovereign bonds issued in Hong Kong SAR. The index includes bonds with minimum amounts outstanding of HKD 500 million for sovereign and sub-sovereign issues and HKD 300 million for green bonds from sub-sovereign issuers. Bonds must have a minimum initial time to maturity of 18 months at issuance and a remaining time to maturity of at least one year at rebalancing. While sovereign bonds require no rating, sub-sovereign bonds must be rated investment grade and supranational bonds must be rated AA- or higher. Bonds must be domestic instruments tradable in their respective local markets, with issuers or guarantors domiciled in Hong Kong SAR, excluding offshore currency bonds.
