Paul Shapiro
Director, Head of Alternatives
Paul Shapiro is Head of Alternatives at S&P Dow Jones Indices (S&P DJI) and has extensive experience building innovative index, pricing and reference data products. Paul currently leads S&P DJI product management strategy across private investments, cryptocurrency and home pricing indices, which include the Cambridge Associates Benchmarks, S&P Cryptocurrency Indices, S&P Cotality (formerly known as CoreLogic) Case-Shiller Home Price Indices and Halifax House Price Indices.
Previously, Paul was a Product Manager at IHS Markit, specializing in developing indices and OTC derivative solutions for credit and securitized products, focusing on the CMBX, CDX and iBoxx franchises. Before that, he established the Client Services function for the index division and developed key software applications to calculate settlements in global asset-backed CDS markets.
Paul has a Bachelor of Science in business administration from the University at Buffalo, graduating with honors.
