Nicholas Godec
Senior Director, Head of Fixed Income Tradables & Commodities
Nick Godec is Head of Fixed Income Tradables & Commodities at S&P Dow Jones Indices (S&P DJI). With extensive fixed income and credit market index experience, Nick leads S&P DJI’s global fixed income tradables business, covering key investable indices in the global bond markets. Key tradable indices he covers include the CDX and iTraxx indices and CMBX, as well as tradable use cases of iBoxx indices, such as Standardized iBoxx Total Return Swaps and futures. Nick also oversees the global commodities business, including flagship indices like the GSCI, DJCI and Global Carbon Index. He regularly publishes commentaries and white papers and speaks at industry conferences on key developments across global financial markets.
Nick previously spearheaded S&P DJI's private markets initiatives, including the collaboration with Cambridge Associates Benchmarks and the development of new private market indices. Prior to that, he was a Product Manager at IHS Markit covering the company’s tradable indices, including OTC and exchange-listed derivatives and the development of indices for exchange-traded funds. Before joining IHS Markit, Nick was an index research analyst at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
Nick is a CFA and CAIA charterholder and holds a Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement (CIPM) as well as the Certificate in ESG Investing from the CFA Institute. Nick has an MBA from Columbia Business School, graduating with Dean's Honors, as well as a bachelor’s degree from Columbia University. In his spare time, Nick enjoys reading and writing, skiing, playing tennis and basketball, and he will never say no to a game of table tennis.
