Michael Mell
Global Head of Custom Indices
Michael Mell is Global Head of Custom Indices at S&P Dow Jones Indices (S&P DJI), where he leads a global team dedicated to building indices tailored to meet the unique needs of clients. His team’s expertise benefits ETF sponsors, QIS desks, financial advisors, asset managers, sovereign wealth funds, self-indexers and academic institutions worldwide. Michael is also responsible for driving the future of custom indexing with SPICE® IndexBuilder, S&P DJI’s innovative self-service platform that empowers users to independently create and customize indices with flexibility and efficiency.
Prior to joining S&P DJI, Michael was a Senior Associate at Infosys Technologies in its financial services practice, where he provided management consulting solutions to firms such as Goldman Sachs and Capital One Financial.
Michael holds a master’s degree in international affairs, with a concentration in organization and management, from Columbia University, and a bachelor’s degree from Connecticut College. He also completed the executive education Product Management Program at UC Berkeley.
