The S&P Kensho Future Communication Index is designed to measure the performance of companies focused on advances in how people meet, collaborate, and communicate. Digital communications have radically altered the extent to which people can connect. This has extended to the workplace, where collaborative frameworks have introduced not only the technical capabilities to include voice, video, and data sharing into any application, but also the spirit of the social experience. Virtual and augmented reality may hail an era where situations that previously required physical contact are replaced by a fully immersive virtual experience.
A sector index within the S&P Kensho New Economy Index Series, the S&P Kensho Future Communication Index intends to represent companies involved in the future communications industry, and consists of those companies in the S&P Kensho Digital Communities Index, the S&P Kensho Enterprise Collaboration Index, and the S&P Kensho Virtual Reality Index that are not exclusively involved in military or medical applications.
