The S&P Kensho Digital Communities Index is designed to measure the performance of companies involved in digital social networking services, such as platforms connecting a user's profile with another individual or group, allowing users to communicate and view user generated content, as well as online gaming applications with a focus on community.  A subsector index within the S&P Kensho New Economy Index Series, the S&P Kensho Digital Communities Index intends to represent companies that are focused on online, or digital, communities, which have become such a dominant form of communication and information sharing. The services these companies provide range from meeting new people, connecting with friends and family, maintaining professional connections, to even specialized gaming communities.
