The S&P GSCI Light Energy Index, a sub-index of the S&P GSCI, provides investors with a reliable and publicly available benchmark for the investment performance of the broad commodity market. It contains the same Designated Contracts as the S&P GSCI, but its Contract Production Weights (CPWs) in the energy sector are divided by four, increasing the relative weights of non-energy S&P GSCI constituents and thereby providing a diversified benchmark of broad commodity market performance.
