Platts has restated with immediate effect the specification for its 10ppm gasoil assessments in Asia, including the benchmark FOB Singapore markets, to reflect filter blocking tendency without a temperature rating, and with the standard filter blocking tendency unit of measure at a maximum of 2.0. Previously, the filter blocking tendency for 10ppm sulfur gasoil in Asia was erroneously published with an incorrect temperature rating and unit of measure for filter blocking tendency. One of the test methods for filter blocking tendency is ASTM D2068-97, which describes a procedure for determining the filter blocking tendency of distillate fuel oils where the end use demands an exceptional degree of cleanliness. This test method is applicable to fuels within the viscosity range of 1.50 to 6.00 mm2/s (CST) at 40C, according to ASTM International. Platts assessments are designed to best reflect market norms for specifications. All bids, offers and trades published through the Market on Close assessment process likewise should reflect standard market norms.
