Are you responsible for maintaining Trade Areas for your dealer network? Are you involved in business planning and understanding demographic and vehicle forecasting volume? Or perhaps you would like to be more familiar with Canada's population and geospatial geography changes between Censuses. Join us in this informative session with the experts.
Were you aware that under The Constitution Act of 1867 (formerly known as the British North American Act of 1867), a census to determine population was required for the new parliament? Originally taken after Confederation, the first census for the Dominion of Canada enumerated the four provinces of Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. Initially taken every 10 years, in 1951 the cadence was changed to a five-year cycle. Completion of the Census is mandatory.
Census Data is collected as part of the federal mandate to have relevant and timely information about our country to shape public policy equitably. Statistics Canada, a department of the federal government is the group responsible for the collection of the information. The most recent Census was gathered in May 2021, representing the first time the information was gathered almost entirely online.
Patrick Charbonneau, Senior Demographer, Statistics Canada will share information on the nation's changing population. Understand what communities are growing and how the population is changing. Covering data newly released weeks before the webinar, Patrick will help articulate key insights on our flourishing country.
As S&P Global prepares to update our vehicle data to the new 2021 Census Grid, we will discover how different the building blocks from the previous census truly are. In this informative session, you will be provided context to privacy compliant neighbourhood geography at the Dissemination Areas (DA), and how Trade Areas are evolving. Ian McIlravey, S&P Global's own Network Planning Associate Director will provide a map centric overview on geography changes as they relate to communities across Canada.
