    Today in Canada, ZEVs account for one out of every eleven new light vehicle registered. Market Share of ZEVs in 2022 increased to 8.9%, up from 5.6% in 2021. According to S&P Global Mobility Sales Based Powertrain Outlook, released August 2022, the Market Share for ZEVs is projected to continue to grow reaching 11.3% in 2023, on 1.6 million vehicles.

    As electrification of our Canadian vehicle fleet continues on this upward trajectory to meet our federal ZEV mandate of 100% new vehicle sales in 2035, the supply chain will also shift to respond.
