Statistics Canada has been releasing new results and this webinar discusses the 2021 Census of Population on the Incomes of Canadians and highlights the impacts of the first year of the pandemic on earnings, the role of COVID-19-related benefits in offsetting income losses, and how the income situation of the Canadian population has changed since the last census in 2016.
On October 26, 2022, Statistics Canada released new results from the 2021 Census of Population on Immigration, Ethnocultural Diversity and Religion. Immigrants accounted for 23.0% of the population in 2021, the largest proportion in over 150 years. Coming from many countries, immigrants settle throughout Canada and contribute to the growth of the population and the economy. They also help shape Canada's linguistic, ethnocultural and religious landscape.
