Adrian Carranza Araujo
Senior Specialist, Global Equity Indices
Adrian Carranza is Senior Specialist, Global Equity Indices at S&P Dow Jones Indices (S&P DJI) in the Product Management group. Adrian is a product manager for the global equity markets, covering a wide variety of indices, from broad benchmarks to smart beta and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) indices.
Adrian’s experience extends to designing, managing, and promoting a wide range of indices. He has also worked closely with other product managers to regularly publish research and analytical reports on a variety of investment topics, including environmental themes, global REITs, and Islamic finance. Adrian collaborated with the Bank of England—as part of his master’s degree dissertation project—in the production of a research paper on the role of Northern Rock in the 2008 financial crisis. He also worked with HSBC’s Global Risk Analytics team developing and implementing transaction-monitoring scenarios for anti-money-laundering purposes.
Adrian graduated from the Universidad de las Américas Puebla in Mexico with a bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science. He also holds a master’s degree in Banking and Risk Management from the University of Edinburgh, where he graduated with distinction.
