This Week In Credit: Inflation Indicators (Feb. 12, 2024)

Rated global debt maturities will peak at $2.78 trillion in 2026, up from nearly $2 trillion in 2024, while speculative-grade maturities will increase four-fold to $1.1 trillion by 2028. Near-term refinancing risk is particularly concentrated at the lower end, with 'CCC' category non financial corporate maturities exceeding that of 'B-' in both 2024 and 2025. Inflation data, which markets expect to point lower, will take center stage this week. The U.S. Consumer Price Index (Tuesday) will be the main focus, though U.K inflation data (Wednesday) and fourth quarter 2023 GDP figures (Thursday) will also draw attention.
