Eni offers 92 lots of Transmed, TTPC natural gas import capacity through Oct 2019

Barcelona — Italy's largest gas group Eni has offered 92 lots of 500,000 cu m/day ofcapacity on its Algerian import link available via auction, according to atender notice published on its website.

The lots, which correspond to capacity from the Algerian border withTunisia at Oued Saf-Saf to the entry point into Italy at Mazara del Vallo, aredivided up into long-term, medium-term and short-term products.

The long-term capacity sale is for 12 lots or 6 million cu m/day thatspan the entire offer period of May 1, 2018 to October 1, 2019.

The medium-term products consist of two auctions for 10 lots or 5 millioncu m/day apiece -- the first covering May 1, 2018 to October 1, 2018 and thesecond spanning October 1, 2018 to October 1, 2019.

The short-term products consist of six sections of 10 lots or 5 millioncu m/day apiece, spanning May and June 2018; July through September 2018;October through December 2018; January through March 2019; April through June2018; and July through September 2019.

All delivery slots start at 8 am CET on the first day of the month andend at 8 am on the first day of the following month.

Online registration for the sale ends March 28 and all documentationneeds to be submitted by April 3 at 4 pm CET (1400 GMT).

The auction will be non-discriminatory and consist of transparentsingle-round sales according to the pay as bid price rule, Eni said.

The transportation capacities do not include the corresponding capacityat entry Mazara del Vallo on the Italian network system, it noted.

The sale follows Eni's offer last summer of 77,360 cu m/hour or 1.86million cu m/day on just the Tunisian section of the pipeline for the periodrunning from October 1, 2017 to September 30, 2019. The Trans TunisianPipeline company is 100% owned by Eni, whereas the Trans-Mediterraneanpipeline across the Channel of Sicily is operated by a joint venture of Eniand Algeria's Sonatrach.

With a maximum daily capacity of 107.3 million cu m, theTrans-Mediterranean pipeline is the second-largest import pipeline into Italy,Europe's third biggest gas market.

For the gas year 2018 to 2019, 41.1 million cu m/day of that importcapacity is available at Mazara del Vallo, according to data from thecountry's Economic Development Ministry.
