The story of price benchmarks

In 1909, Warren Platt established the first price reports for the oil market. Since then, we've been a respected source of physical price assessments that reflect transactional values for an ever-growing range of markets. And as the world evolves, so do we.

Working in partnership with market participants to publish prices that are relevant, fair and underpinned by transparent methodologies, we're the custodians of today's leading benchmarks, including:

Platts Dated Brent®
Platts Dubai®
Platts Iron Ore Index (IODEX®)
Platts JKM®

Benchmarks of tomorrow

We're in regular communication with the markets about future benchmarks, such as assessing the value of light, sweet crude loading from locations along the US Gulf Coast or providing an independent evaluation of the production cost of hydrogen at hubs around the world.
